Tec Tec Tec Rangefinder Review

Since 2014, TecTecTec has been a pioneer in affordable and technologically advanced laser rangefinders. Headquartered in France with representation in Houston, Texas and Bali, they provide topnotch products and service around the world.

When I was asked to review the VPRO500 model, the first question that came to mind was who TecTecTec is? I researched this brand, and found that they concentrate on the Optics with Ultra-Clear viewing. This really comes in handy for those that wear glasses. I received the VPRO500 and I was impressed by the packaging, and after opening the box I liked how the unit looked and felt.

The VPRO500 is waterproof that measures up to 540 yards within +/- 1 yard, helping you find the right distance to golf flags, trees, or hazards.  After one look through the premium, ultra-clear, multilayered optical lens, you’ll have a complete picture so you can take your golf game to the next level. It measures distances perfectly thanks to its clear 6x magnification and multilayer coating.  The diopter adjustment functionality will always guarantee you a clear view whether you’re nearsighted or farsighted!  Being able to see the object you’re measuring with clarity and pin point distance accuracy will only help improve your golf game.

I played a total of 5 rounds with the VPRO500 rangefinder and it passed all my expectations for a rangefinder at this affordable price. Wearing glasses, the optics was crystal clear for me, I was able to point and shoot at all my targets with instant yardage. I must admit the very first time I used it, the default setting was in Meters, and over shot the green thinking the measurement was yards. My golfing partner asked if I was sure of this reading, and then after viewing for a second time I observed the setting to be Meters….Ooops! A simple change, and I was on the setting I wanted! We tested this up against a High End rangefinder that is pretty popular out there and costed my playing partner $400, and TecTecTec VPRO500 passed that test over and over with accuracy. This rangefinder is lightweight and I really like the case that is provided with your purchase, and the case is a much needed protection for this particular model. This range finder also has First Target Priority, and it worked to perfection as I got my distance to the Pin first, and then shot to the back edge of a bunker so I knew what I needed to carry my shot on the green.
I took the VPRO500 to the US Open at Erin Hills and was using it during practice rounds with all the rolling terrain that the course has, and was shooting distances to trees, the edge of a hill, and at one point I actually shot a distance to one of the golfer’s ball in the fairway. Every distance I shot was instant, and with the Optics and 6x Magnification allowed me to shoot a distance to something as small as a golf ball. That indicates to me this rangefinder would be perfect if a golfer wants to dial in distance with New Clubs, or a Golfer just starting out and not sure of their distance….They can use TecTecTec to know exactly what yardage they are hitting.

On Social media, I mentioned that I was reviewing this product, and a comment was left on the post that they had heard the customer service was poor. I put this feedback to test….While there was not an option to place a call to the customer service, the only option on their website was by e-mail or form submission and they promote a typical response within 24 hours. I created an e-mail address where they would not know it was me sending this Customer Service inquiry. My inquiry questioned return policy, and settings question. I was highly satisfied with the response time, and their response to my inquiry.

The only Con I have with TecTecTec VPRO500, other Rangefinders have the “Vibration” technology with their Pin Seeker settings and I do like that feature. However, the optics, ultra-clear, and instant yardage makes up for the lack of that feature.

With a price tag of $149.99 for the VPRO500, This is definitely an affordable rangefinder that will get the job done! I highly recommend them!
